As stated in our mission and vision, Every Voice in Action believes that young people must have an authentic voice in their lives and in the life of the community.  For us, this means the community recognizing youth as important resources, and encouraging them to express their unique perspectives and ideas.  It also means supporting their activism and inclusion in social forums that are traditionally dominated by adults.

In order to further this vision, it is important to Every Voice in Action that we, as an organization, are constantly and actively advocating for this involvement within nonprofit organizations, educational systems, and local, state, and federal governments.  In a variety of ways, we work to promote youth as decision-makers in all of these fields.

• Our Youth Voice Advocate Awards recognize four outstanding individuals and/or organizations in the community who are actively working towards more youth voice in our community.  The winners of these awards are chosen by a committee of young people. • Tucson Youth Week is a social marketing effort that comprises Every Voice in Action’s largest advocacy endeavor.  The goal of this week is to celebrate and recognize the impact young people have on our community, and to motivate youth and adults to get involved in the youth voice movement.  For more information about Tucson Youth Week for 2008, to view highlights from 2007 and to find out how you can get involved, click here.
• In 2005, Every Voice staff participated in the Arizona Statewide Youth Development Task Force, working on recommendations for the Governor and collaborating with other service providers to develop the area of Youth Voice and Advocacy throughout the state.
