Tucson Youth Week is a series of events to recognize and celebrate the significant impact that young people have on Pima County, including the everyday contributions they make to their families, schools, and community. This annual celebration includes the Community Youth Recognition Event, the Youth Activism Art & Media Showcase, school-based youth activism film screenings, and Global Youth Service Day, as well as a poetry contest and a call to youth artists.
2008 was our second year putting on Tucson Youth Week, and it was a great success! We had over 3,200 youth submitted for recognition by community members for their positive contributions. Several community leaders attended the Community Youth Recognition Event to help us thank the youth for their contributions to our community. Attendees enjoyed free food and music, listened to the winning submissions from the Tucson Youth Week Poetry Contest, and learned more about the extraordinary impact made by the youth of Pima County!
