This energetic and highly visual event displayed creative expressions of young people who are contributing to the community dialogue about the issues that affect them through various forms of media and art.

Showcase Participants Included:

  • Home?—A powerful photo documentary exhibit created by young refugees that portrays their experience coming to the U.S.
  • Social Justice Education Project—A film documentary that addresses economic inequalities in education.
  • The Comic Book Project—Owl and Panther: Writing From the Darkness is an expressive arts and leadership group serving refugees and their families.
  • Clean and Sober Theater (CAST)—Live theater performance about the negative effects of substance abuse.
  • City High School—Woodcut drawings that express opinions regarding Downtown Revitalization.
  • Tierra y Libertad Organization—Hip-hop performance that addresses social justice issues.
  • Grrrls Literary ActivismVisual art & spoken word performances that show the power of a young woman’s voice.
